The Biltmore Estate Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of NC

One of the many things I love about living in North Carolina is that you have both the ocean and the mountains within easy driving distance, and a touch of the four seasons. Warm enough for air conditioning in the summer, but not scorching like Arizona, and cold enough in the winter to enjoy a nice warm fire, but not as cold as some states where temps go way below zero, nor do we have tons of snow.
North Carolina is comprised of many rural areas with lots of agriculture, yet it enjoys major cities and top universities. There is lots to see and do all through the year, and if you like wineries, we have several of those as well. One tourist attraction, in particular, is the Biltmore Estate in the artisan town of Asheville. Asheville has many shops, little nooks and crannies for that unusual find and restaurants to tease the pallet.
The Biltmore which was built by George Vanderbilt and located on 8,000 acres in the Blue Ridge Mountains is rich in history and is well maintained. The rooms have been decorated to match the years when it was a thriving estate allowing the visitor to wander back into history and experience the way life was back then. It's fascinating to see the types of tools that were used during this time in history, and how they managed to entertain the rich and famous. No detail is left out.
With lovely gardens, restaurants, and a wine tasting from their own private winery, visitors are treated to a lovely experience. For those wishing to stay over night and attend special events, try the Inn at Biltmore.
I have visited a few time with guests, and I highly recommend! For more information, go to www.biltmore.com.
